About Hamilton Emergency Training

My Mission

At Hamilton Emergency Training, my mission is to provide high-quality CPR classes and First Aid training to individuals and businesses in my community. I firmly believe that everyone should possess the skills and knowledge necessary to save a life during an emergency situation.

My Classes

I offer a variety of American Heart Association classes, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Heartsaver CPR, Family and Friends CPR, First Aid, and AED training. In addition, I provide OSHA compliant Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens training. I can also conduct skills assessments for your online CPR courses, including for the CPR Class First Aid certification.

All CPR and First Aid certifications are valid for 2 years.

I use the updated 2025 materials to teach my classes.

Classes can be conducted in a group setting or one-on-one.

You may take an in-person class or choose to complete the classroom portion online (links provided below) and let me assess your skills.

The Instructor

My name is Rhonda Hamilton, and I am the owner of Hamilton Emergency Training. With 27 years of experience as an LVN, I am also a certified CPR and Stop the Bleed instructor. For the past 9 years, I have been teaching American Heart Association CPR classes, including essential CPR classes and First Aid training. My goal is to empower others with the fundamental skills needed to assist someone in an emergency situation.

CPR Classes for Everyone

Who Can Take a CPR or First Aid Class?

My CPR class and First Aid certification courses are open to everyone, regardless of their experience level. In these classes, I will teach you the essential skills and knowledge needed to effectively respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies.

*There is no minimum age requirement; however, students must be physically able to perform chest compressions, demonstrate an understanding of the information, and successfully complete the skills portion without prompting.

*First Aid Classes* (Can be taken alone or in combination with CPR/AED)

The Heartsaver First Aid courses train participants in the basics of first aid for the most common emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. This course reflects the science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC), as well as the 2015 AHA/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid, making it an essential component of any CPR class first aid training. Who should take this course? The AHA Heartsaver First Aid Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

*Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification Course*

The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely, timely, and effectively. This CPR class incorporates the latest science and education based on the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

*Child and infant modules are optional.*

Who should take this CPR class?

The AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who requires a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other First Aid requirements.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

*BLS for Healthcare Providers*

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and ensure early use of an AED. This course adheres to the science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC), making it an essential aspect of any CPR Class First Aid training.

Who should take this course?

The AHA’s BLS Course is tailored for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to master CPR and essential cardiovascular life support skills in a range of in-facility and prehospital environments.

*Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Training*

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course equips students with essential knowledge on how to protect themselves and others from exposure to blood or blood-containing materials. This training is designed to fulfill Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens, especially when accompanied by site-specific instruction. The course incorporates the latest science and guidelines from the American Heart Association, which is invaluable for those interested in a CPR class first aid training as well.

Who should take this course?

The AHA Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course is specifically designed for individuals who may encounter bloodborne pathogens. This includes Correctional Officers, Childcare workers, Security guards, Maintenance personnel, School staff, Hotel housekeepers, Health and fitness club employees, and Tattoo artists.

The Family & Friends CPR Class

Offers essential lifesaving skills, including adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, AED use for adults and children, infant CPR, and methods to handle mild and severe airway blockages for all ages. These vital skills are taught in an engaging group setting, utilizing the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique to maximize hands-on practice time for every participant. This CPR Class is ideal for those who want to learn CPR and First Aid without needing a completion card for employment purposes. It is particularly advantageous for community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and anyone eager to acquire life-saving skills. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of participation. Please note, this class serves as an introduction to CPR and does not provide an American Heart Association course completion card.
