My Mission

At Hamilton Emergency Training, my mission is to provide high-quality CPR classes and First Aid training to individuals and businesses in my community. I believe that everyone should have the skills and knowledge necessary to save a life in an emergency situation.

First Aid

My Classes

I offer a variety of American Heart Association classes, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Heartsaver CPR, Family and Friends CPR, First Aid, and AED training. Additionally, I provide OSHA compliant Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens training. I can also conduct skills assessments for your online CPR Class First Aid course. 

All certifications are valid for 2 years.


I use the updated 2025 materials to teach my classes. 


Classes can be conducted in a group setting or one-on-one. At this moment, I do not have scheduled classes, so please contact me to set up a class. 


I am mobile! I can come to your business or organization to get your staff certified. If quality and convenience are important to you, give me a call.

The Instructor

My name is Rhonda Hamilton, and I am the owner of Hamilton Emergency Training. With 27 years of experience as an LVN, I am also a certified CPR and Stop the Bleed instructor. For the past 9 years, I have been teaching American Heart Association CPR classes, including essential CPR class and First Aid training. My goal is to empower others with the basic skills needed to assist someone in an emergency situation.

CPR Certification Classes

My CPR Class First Aid certification classes are open to everyone, regardless of experience level. I will teach you the skills and knowledge needed to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies.

*First Aid Certification Classes

The Heartsaver First Aid course trains participants in the basics of first aid for the most common emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. This course reflects the science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and the 2015 AHA/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid, making it an essential component of any CPR class first aid training.

Who should take this course?


The AHA Heartsaver First Aid Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

*Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification Course

The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course reflects the science and education outlined in the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).


What does this CPR class first aid course teach?


- Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival

- Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival

- Recognize when someone needs CPR

- Perform high-quality CPR for an adult

- Describe how to perform CPR with help from others

- Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups

- Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult

- Perform high-quality CPR for a child*

- Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child*

- Perform high-quality CPR for an infant*

- Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child

- Demonstrate how to help a choking infant*


*Child and infant modules are optional.

Basic Life Support (BLS)


The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. This course reflects the science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC), making it an essential component of any CPR Class First Aid training.


Who should take this course?


The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.


What does this course teach?


- High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants

- The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components

- Important early use of an AED

- Effective ventilations using a barrier device

- Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR

- Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

*Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Training

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from exposure to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. It reflects the science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC), which is essential knowledge for anyone interested in a CPR class first aid training as well. 


Who should take this course?


The AHA Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course is tailored for individuals who may come into contact with bloodborne pathogens, including Correctional Officers, Childcare workers, Security guards, Maintenance workers, School personnel, Hotel housekeepers, Health and fitness club staff, and Tattoo artists.


What does this course teach?


This course employs the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and the tagline, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act™,” to help students learn and easily recall important bloodborne pathogens training.


Students learn how to:


Protect themselves from blood or blood-containing materials.

Act quickly and safely.

Clean areas contaminated with blood or blood-containing materials.

Tell their supervisor about any incidents.

*Family and Friends CPR

The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches lifesaving skills such as adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and handling mild and severe airway blockages for adults, children, and infants. These essential skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, maximizing hands-on CPR practice time for all participants. 


This CPR class is perfect for individuals who wish to learn CPR without the need for a CPR course completion card for job requirements. It is especially beneficial for community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and anyone interested in acquiring the skills to save a life. 


Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
